FAQ
Everything you need to know about ENROUTE®, the products, materials, protection, and the thinking behind the system.
ABOUT ENROUTE®
ENROUTE® is based in Switzerland, just outside of Zurich.
ENROUTE® was founded in 2025 by Ashot Sdanewitsch. The brand grew out of a frustration with having to choose between motorcycle gear that protects and clothing that you actually want to wear.
ENROUTE® was born with motorcycling in mind. But the system is designed so that most products work just as well off the bike as on it. Only the protection layer is specifically engineered for motorcycle use. Everything else is built to be part of your daily wardrobe.

THE SYSTEM: How SIPSX™ Works
SIPSX™ is the foundation of our product philosophy. The name stands for five functional layers: Skin, Insulator, Protection, Shell, and Extras. Each layer serves a specific purpose and works on its own or as part of a larger combination.
- Skin: Base layer for direct skin contact and comfort.
- Insulator: Mid layer for thermal regulation and insulation.
- Protection: Mid layer for CE-certified impact protection and abrasion resistance.
- Shell: Outer layer for defense against weather and external conditions.
- Extras: Accessories and add-ons that adapt the system to changing conditions.
Every product works on its own, but the system is designed to adapt to your day. Depending on the weather, the ride, or where you’re headed, you add or remove layers as needed. The fit across layers is intentional, and features like [ENROUTE:connect]™ let you physically integrate two garments into one.
Yes, that's the core idea behind the brand: to blur the line between protective gear and everyday clothing. The shell jacket is built to be worn anywhere. It's a fully functional, standalone piece. For certified impact and abrasion protection on the bike, combine it with the Protective Lining Jacket.
Traditional motorcycle clothing is made for motorcycling and nothing else. Some products are marketed as wearable off the bike, but they remain motorcycle products: armoured, heavy, and bulky. Would you ever wear a traditional motorcycle jacket on a day you're not riding?
ENROUTE® approaches it differently. We've built a system that separates protection from everyday wear. When you ride, you wear the protective layer underneath. When you're off the bike, you pack it away. It's light enough and flexible enough to adapt to your day.
PROTECTION
No, a shell jacket alone does not provide certified motorcycle protection. That's what the protective layer is for. It's where CE-certified impact and abrasion resistance lives.
No, you don't have to buy the full system. Each product works on its own. But each layer has its purpose, and on a motorcycle, the protective layer is essential.
Yes. The Protective Lining Jacket is CE AA-certified and can be worn on a motorcycle without a shell jacket. It's designed to be lightweight and comfortable enough to ride in on its own, especially in warmer conditions.
The goal with this jacket was to create the lightest and most comfortable protective jacket for daily use. It's made for days when you spend a few hours on the bike but don't want to carry a heavy, bulky motorcycle jacket for the rest of the day. It should remove any friction, so you never think twice about whether to wear protection. The layering system also lets you add a shell jacket for weather defense and durability on top. While that combination increases overall protection, CE certification only applies to individual garments, so the lining is rated on its own.
If your day revolves around the ride (long tours, full days in the saddle) an AAA-rated motorcycle jacket is built for that. The Protective Lining Jacket is designed for the days when riding is part of your day, not the whole day.Dyneema® is an ultra-high-performance polyethylene fiber, trusted in ballistic armor, climbing gear, sailing, and aerospace for its unmatched strength-to-weight ratio. ENROUTE® chose Dyneema® for its protective garments because it delivers exceptional abrasion and tear resistance without the weight and stiffness typically associated with protective textiles.
RHEON™ is a next-generation impact protection technology developed by RHEON LABS®, a London-based materials science company. It originates from research rooted in NASA and over 15 years of development at Imperial College London.
Unlike traditional armour, which tends to be stiff, heavy, and restrictive, RHEON™ uses patented geometry and advanced polymers to absorb energy while remaining lightweight, flexible, and breathable. ENROUTE® chose RHEON™ for its protective garments because it delivers CE-certified protection while being lighter, thinner, more flexible and more breathable than conventional armour.
PRODUCT & MANUFACTURING
ENROUTE® doesn't start with motorcycle clothing and try to make it wearable. We start with a garment we want to wear every day, build protection into it, then make it modular so it stretches across as much of your life as possible. Every new product should feel like an extension of what you already own.
Take the shell jacket. On its own, it's a daily jacket for spring and fall. Add the protective lining and it becomes a riding jacket. Add the insulator and it carries you through winter. One piece, multiple configurations, no compromise on any of them.
ENROUTE® is a European brand. Our garments are cut and sewn in Portugal and Switzerland, and our suppliers are based in Italy, Spain, Austria, Lithuania, and Portugal. The only exceptions we make are for Japanese and Korean mills. There is something about the craftsmanship and the fabrics from those places that you can't find anywhere else.
Many of these suppliers typically work with high-end fashion houses or function-first industries like defense and aerospace. The fibers and treatments in our products often haven't reached the mass market yet. We bring them into this space because they solve problems conventional motorcycle textiles don't.
Beyond materials and construction, ENROUTE® develops proprietary features that solve specific problems across the system. Some are product-specific, but several are designed to work across the full range.
[ENROUTE:connect]™ is a system of snap buttons, loops, and zippers that connects two layers into one unified garment, so nothing shifts, bunches, or separates while you ride.
[reflectFLARE]™ is a low-profile reflective detail that stays invisible during the day and activates under direct light exposure. It enhances nighttime visibility without disrupting the garment's aesthetic.
[waistLOCK]™ connects a protective jacket to your pants, preventing the jacket from riding up in a slide or impact.
Yes, at some point. We're currently working on additional shell jackets, insulator jackets, and accessories that expand the functionality of products you already own. Pants are also in development, though still in early stages.
Our goal is to grow the SIPSX™ system piece by piece. We don't release on a seasonal schedule. We release when a product is ready and meets the standard we've set with the rest of the range.
SIZING & FIT
No. Each product is designed with its role in the system in mind. The shell jacket has a relaxed fit that already accounts for a lining underneath. The Protective Lining Jacket has a slim, body-close fit to stay in place and minimize bulk when layered. So if you're a size L in both, order a size L in both. The fits are engineered to work together.
[ENROUTE:connect]™ also works across all size combinations. A size M lining connects to a size L shell without issue. So if your shell and lining sizes happen to differ, the system still works.
Each product page includes a detailed measurement chart and model reference to help you find the right fit. If you're unsure, contact us at support@enroutexx.com. We're very good at getting it right.

Close to the body. The Protective Lining Jacket is designed with a slim, body-close fit for a reason: the armour needs to stay in position over your shoulders, elbows, and back to protect you properly. It should feel snug but not restrictive. The 4-way stretch fabric gives you full range of motion even with a tight fit.
Yes. We have a showroom in Erlenbach (15min outside of Zurich, Switzerland), where you can see the products in person, try on sizes, and experience how the layers work together. Visits are by appointment. Reach out to us at contact@enroutexx.com to schedule a time.
